A rectangle has sides x + 5 and 2x - 1.  The perimeter of the rectangle is 68.  What is the length of the largest side?

2(x + 5) + 2(2x - 1) = 68

2x + 10 + 4x - 2 = 68

6x + 8 = 68

6x = 60

x = 10

Now plug 10 in for x and solve for the greatest length.

10 + 5 = 15 and 2(10)-1 is 19.  So 2x - 1 is the greatest side length
