Single-acting pumps move fluid in only one direction of handle operation. Double-acting hand pumps move fluid in both directions of handle movement.

A thermostat senses the cabin temp. and cycles the fuel valve on or off to maintain the temp. at the desired value.
What is the advantage of using AC power over DC power? (AM.II.K.K2)
AC voltages can be steeped up to higher voltages, which means that current goes down and smaller wires can be sued to save weight. The voltage is stepped back down at the point of use.

The gas fumes should be purged from the tank by running live steam through it for at least 30 mins, by soaking it in water, or by filling it with nitrogen or CO2.

The wheel speed sensor is a DC generator that is used to produce a voltage proportional to wheel speed. Rotational speed change in excess of programmed parameters will engage the anti-skid data.

Pressure regulators control overall system pressure. Pressure relief valves act as a back-up to the pressure regulator to prevent overpressure damage to the system and components.

If the ventilating air is restricted and the temp. reaches a preset value, the limit switch will cause the fuel to be shut off to the heater.

Restoring the residual magnetism to the frame of the generator. This is done by passing battery current through the field coils in the direction it normally flows when the generator is operating.

What does an unloading valve do in a hyd. system? (AM.II.F.K10)
It controls system pressure by shifting the pump outlet fluid from the pressurized system back into the reservoir when the system pressure is high enough. The fluid circulates with very little load on the pump until the system pressure drops to the regulator kick-in valve. The pump then forces fluid into the system until the pressure builds back up to the regulator kick-out valve.
How is the heat removed from an A/C cabin with a vapor-cycle air conditioning system? (AM.II.G.K6)
The cabin heat is absorbed by the refrigerant in the evaporator, then carried outside the A/C where it is given up to the outside air in the condenser.
How does a vibrator-type voltage regulator maintain a constant voltage? (AM.II.K.K5)
When the voltage rises above the desired value, an electromagnetic relay opens and inserts a resistor in the generator field circuit, decreasing the field current and lowering the generator output voltage.
