100
The "test" that tells whether a relation is a function from a graph.
What is the vertical line test?
100
What is the difference between slope and rate of change?
There is no difference. We use rate of change when we have units and slope when we don't, but slope is just the rate of change of a line, so they mean the same thing.

(2, 5); (-1, 6); (7, 3); (4, 1) Give the domain and range, and tell whether it is a function.
D: -1, 2, 4, 7 R: 1, 3, 5, 6 Yes it is a function

Solve

3(x + 12) = 8 - 4x

x = -4

300
If the domain of the function f(x) = -x + 2 is {1, 3, 6}, what is the range?
{1, -1, -4}

When George left his house, he had 20 gallons of gas in the tank and the odometer read 3000 miles. When he arrived at his cousin's house, he had 5 gallons and the odometer read 3450 miles. Calculate the rate of change in miles per gallon.

7/2

300

Solve

4x - (x - 4) = -20

x = -8

400
What is a function?
A type of relation that has exactly one output (y-value) for each input (x-value)

At 1 o'clock, the temperature was 90 degrees. At 3 o'clock, the temperature was 80 degrees. Find the rate of change for the temperature for this time period.

Solve

3/2 (x + 1) = 3

x = 1

500
When can you use the vertical line test, and when can you not use it?
The vertical line test is only used for graphs. It cannot be used to determine whether a table or set of ordered pairs is a function unless you graph them first.
500
Find the slope of the line with a y-intercept of -3 and passes through the point (2, 6).
