Alignment Basics
This panel in Illustrator lets you align objects or entire groups to each other or the artboard
What is the Align Panel
This command combines multiple objects so they act as one.
Group (Ctrl/Cmd + G)
This feature lets you quickly duplicate shapes in patterns.
What is Repeat?
This feature evenly spaces objects apart.
What is Distribute?
This tool selects and moves objects.
What is the Selection Tool?
This option centers objects left to right
Horizontal Align Center
This command breaks a group back into individual objects.
What is Ungroup?
This repeat type creates reflections across a line.
What is Mirror Repeat?
This aligns objects with equal space between edges.
What is Horizontal Distribute Space?
Holding this key while dragging duplicates an object.
What is the Alt/Option key?
This setting aligns objects relative to the entire artboard.

This allows you to edit one object inside a group without ungrouping.
What is Isolation Mode?
This repeat creates rows and columns automatically.
What is Grid Repeat?
This distributes objects evenly from top to bottom.

This tool rotates objects around a fixed point.

This option aligns objects based on a selected reference object.
Align to Key Object
This command releases grouped items while keeping appearance effects.
What is Expand/Release (depending on context)?
This repeat type duplicates objects around a circle.
What is Radial Repeat?
This lets you manually enter exact spacing between objects.
What is Distribute Spacing (with value input)?
This tool resizes objects proportionally when holding Shift.
What is the Scale Tool?
Using both center align options at once places an object perfectly here.
