If it is shiny it is wet. If it is matte it is dry.

Lick It Up! Refers to what watercolor technique?
It is a way to lighten and / or remove color pigment from an area. First rinse the brush in clean water. Then wet the area you want to lighten. Dab gently with a paper towel. Repeat as necessary.
What happens when you add salt on top of wet watercolor paint?
The salt absorbs all of the color pigment in that spot. It leaves a a tiny snowflake of white.

Put both of your feet in one square tile. Stare at the person's hair in front of you - if you are first then pretend Mrs. White is standing there and her hair is changing colors.
Watercolor needs water to activate. The more water the lighter the color. You do NOT use white. You can add salt for a cool effect. Easier to clean up.
Acrylic is already activated. You use white to lighten colors. It tends to stain.
