The event entry mask is where call takers live in CAD. This mask is used to enter calls for service while speaking to callers on the phone. Entering a call in this mask is the first step in getting someone the help they are calling for.

Name the difference between an incident number and a case number. Show where each of these numbers can be found on the event mask in CAD.
Incident number - This is the "L" number, generated automatically by the system in chronological order on every call for service.
Case number - This is a number assigned by dispatch at the request of an officer or deputy when the call requires a formal written police report.

What is the main difference between 'update' and 'select' modes in your event entry mask?

When in update mode, you are the only person that can modify the fields in the upper section of the mask (location, call type, RP information)
Select mode only allows you to supplement additional information into the remarks field
The free event command allows you to put a call that is 'locked' in update mode by another user back into select mode (CDT to demonstrate)

This command is used to save time when a unit calls up to be placed on an event that has not already been created. It will create the call and put the unit on it at the same time.
How can you see recent history at a certain location in CAD?
Utilizing the EV button on the event mask or the system information bar will pull up calls in the last 90 days.
