400

Which surface has a higher albedo: a White roof top or a concrete sidewalk?

white roof top

400

Which country produces the most amount of renewable energy?

Canada or Sweden

400

How does Geothermal energy work?

This process typically involves drilling wells into geothermal reservoirs to access hot water and steam. The steam spins the turbines, connected to generators which converts the mechanical energy into electrical energy. After passing through the turbines, the steam is cooled and condensed back into water, which can often be re-injected into the reservoir to maintain the cycle

500

Define Albedo

An object's ability to reflect sun radiation back into space

500

Who receives most benefits from extracting natural resources for renewable technologies?

Global North, mining companies, countries and communities that are not found where the resources are mined.

500

What is the average lifespan of a wind turbine?

20-25 years

500

How many countries have committed to net zero GHGs?

50% or 107 coutnries

500

What is the difference between wave and tidal energy?

Wave energy convertors are placed at the surface and rely on crashing waves for kinetic energy

Whereas tidal energy convertors are anchored to the seafloor and rely on currents and tides created by the gravitational pull from the moon for kinetic energy.
