There are only two written accounts of the First Thanksgiving and neither imply that Pilgrims invited the Native Americans to partake in their celebration, but we know the Wampanoag tribe was there. What do you think happened?
Most historians believe pilgrims were celebrating the harvest (loud noises, shooting off guns, music) in a festive fashion and Native Americans came to investigate. The wording implies that they were then invited to the feast. Some say the Wampanoag showed up in full warrior mode ready to fight (they outnumbered the settlers 2 to 1).
