This spot is where I will have you go to quickly meet with another teacher, regulate your emotions, and discuss how you can be more successful when you return to the classroom.

What is a teacher sent break?

100: 2 minutes 

200: walking break, scooter break, running/ race break, bathroom break (PLEASE ASKKKKK).

This pillar is best represented by being polite to staff and peers, not breaking or ruining materials, raising your hand, being quiet when someone else is talking, and understanding that everyone has feelings and beliefs.

What is respect?

This spot is where you will go when you have not been successful with teacher sent breaks (2+), say something racist, sexist, are obviously bullying someone verbally or physically, or are continuing to refuse directions given.

Extra 100 points: This is how you can be successful and pass IP hours. 

Extra 200 points: This is what will happen if you don't pass your hours or go to IP after noon. 

What is IP? (Individualized Programming)

100: raise your hand to speak (stay quiet outside of that), complete quality work, stay in your area, remain polite and respectful to the teacher. 

200: Late bus, leave at 3:30 instead of 2:30, get driven home by a teacher.

These are two places you are responsible for keeping clean, organized, and neat. 

Extra 100 points: Other than your backpack, you should have these 2 things hung nicely for out days.

This is the level you are when you have accumulated 1,400 points, have 80%+ for two weeks in a row, and get access to benefits like breakfasts with Madison and the Keurig.

This is level 2.

This spot is where we go when the weather doesn't let us go outside for GM, where we eat lunch, and where we go to cook/ bake. 

What is the gym, cafeteria, kitchen?

This is where you can find books, sit quietly during a break, and chat with peers in the morning and afternoon.

Extra 100: use the time squares on the side of your desk, hold it up and make sure I see it, then go to the quiet corner to set the timer and do a chosen quiet activity.

This is the level you are when you have accumulated 1,400 points twice and get access to perks like big trips (Hershey Park, Washington DC, etc.) on top of the perks earned in the level before.

This pillar is best represented by upholding promises you made, being honest even if it gets you in trouble, communicating your thoughts and emotions, and being able to do jobs with care and safety.

This spot is accessed by advocating for yourself. Here, you can go when you're feeling overstimulated/ overwhelmed. It is dark, quiet, and a great way to regulate your emotions! 

What is the sensory room?

This space is where we spend a majority of the day. Here, you can have flexible seating (bean bag, surf desk, yoga ball, pillow/blanket).

What is the front carpet?

Extra points: bouncing too much on the yoga ball, laying down/sleeping on the bean bag, using any of the seating to harm another student.

This is the percent you need to get weekly to earn the out day for the next week. 


Extra 100 points: What happens if you get any percent below? BE SPECIFIC

What is 75%? 

100: You will be put on notice which means you won't go on the out day and will spend the day in the classroom completing work given to you. If you get on notice two weeks in a row, your points will reset to 0 and you will move down a level.

This is the phrase we say when we are out in nature or in a space where you could take something home.

100: so someone else can enjoy the space as much as we did, so we don't damage the area, etc.

This spot is where you go to find ingredients, use the washing machine, and is a huge privilege to get access to!

Extra 100 points: Name one thing found in this spot (other than the washer!). 

What is the pantry?

100: baking sheets, breakfast items, dryer, large whisks, laundry detergent, specific ingredients.

This is a space you cannot access unless you are specifically asked to. Opening or getting into this area without permission will result in a teacher sent break or IP if it is a consistent issue.

How should checking your points with me look? 

Extra 100 points: What item(s) can you get if you get 80%+ that day? 

Extra 200 points: What percent would earn you access to putting flavored powders in a drink the following day? 

Checking points with Ms. K should be done when I call you over during dismissal. I will quietly point to your percentage of the day and we will quickly discuss things you did well and what I expect to see you working on the next day. I will also write down the percentage in your take home binder. 

100: Jolly Ranchers, flavored lifesavers, stickers, etc. 

200: 85%

These are the behavior expectations no matter where we go on the out day.

Be respectful to staff, peers, and anyone we interact with. Listen to ALL directions. Respect any materials or gear we use. Stay within sight of the teachers.
