What should you do before you come in on Sunday?
Review the lesson plan! Bonus: read Scripture passage, watch video, pray for kiddos!
If there is a fire alarm or we need to evacuate?
We must evacuate the building no matter what. Your job is to know how many kids you have. Do NOT let a parent pick up their child while we are exiting, we must get every single child outside and take attendance to verify no one was left in the building before a parent can pick up-parents can come with us!
A parent has already dropped their child off but lost their pick-up tag, should you reprint?
No! If we reprint, the security tag will not match the child or room tag AND we can't verify that is the person who actually supposed to pick them up. If they haven't dropped off yet but lost a tag, you can reprint all 3 tags and have them throw the other set away.
What information do we collect on the "family details" page?
Family last name and home address
When should you respond in planning center to let me know if you are serving?
Wednesday of each week!
What is due by WEDNESDAY of each week?
A kiddos asks you a question you don't know the answer to about the lesson or the Bible!
It's ok to say you don't know! You can also tell them you'll follow up with them next week or feel free to grab SC/Staff member.
Someone without a dream team sticker or a parent without a pick-up sticker for a child wants in the room.
Only people with printed Dream Team tags, parents with pick-up stickers, ERT team members with a red lanyard, or staff with their Seacoast badge on are allowed in any Kidscoast space.
The leader in the room won't know this child has never been here before unless....
you put a blue dot sticker on their child tag!
I want to find information about important updates or things that I need to be in the know about.
Turn the GroupMe app notifications on!
What time should you arrive on Sunday and why?
20-25 minutes ahead of service because doors open 15 minutes before, and we want to welcome the kids!
You have extra time at the end of small group or some kids don't want to do activity. What are some things you can do to engage the group?
Memory verse activities (dice game), whiteboard activities, another ice breaker, discussion of Bible story
We all got thirsty and want to leave to go get a drink from the cafe - should we?
There should always be at least one person at every check-in station. We double as hallway security for each room!
NOTHING - but don't forget to at least ask the question :)
Encourage kids to listen and engage with the service-how can you redirect?
Blue chair, headphones/fidget, separate talkers, take toys, ask for backup!
One kiddos is derailing the conversation during small group or not able to be redirected
Engage them in the conversation, use the ball as a means of structure in the conversation, grab SC/Staff, change seats or change groups.
Someone left their belongings in the room and are coming back for them but now they have no tags.
Someone from the check-in team should escort them back into the room / hallway.
I completely forgot how to add a new family.
You're in luck! There is a step-by-step cheat sheet behind every check-in desk.
If a kiddo says something that makes you question their safety, what should you do?
Tell SC if staff is not present, SC will relay to staff.
There is an intruder in the building or we need to shelter in place
-SC/Staff will lead-check in team as back up
-move to designated area in room
-doors and safety locks
-lights will go off
Add a child without a parent attached!!
We must have an emergency contact with the child. Every time you have to help a family, that's a great opportunity to quickly ask them to verify if any information has changed. I recommend adding the parents first before the child so you don't forget.
I can't add this family because I don't speak Spanish or Portuguese.
