Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, widely beloved British children’s book by Lewis Carroll, published in 1865. Violin 


The violin, while being a well loved and impressive instrument, dates back to the 1500s and has a fascinating history. The Violin has a long history, but its elegant shape and design is credited to Andrea Amati, who is thought to be the founding father of violin luthiers. His work dates back to the 1500’s and defined violin craftsmanship, and went on to influence the designs of celebrated luthier, Antonio Stradivari. The word ‘violin’ originates from the Latin word, ‘vitula’, which translates into ‘calf’ or cow. This may have referred to the fact that it was dried animal guts (sheep and cow) that were used to create the strings of the instrument.

Someone suffering from vaccinophobia may find themselves avoiding that which they fear. They may take this to the extreme by ensuring that they cannot be exposed to vaccinations in any way. For example, someone with this condition may refuse to get a vaccination, regardless of how beneficial it would be for them to do so. Such excessive worry and irrational thinking is likely to be one of the main causes of their mental anguish.

What is Ornithophobia? 

Fear of birds 


People who have ornithophobia have an extreme fear of birds. They may worry that birds will attack them and feel as though they’re in danger when they see birds. The number of people with ornithophobia may have increased in the 1960s after the release of the Alfred Hitchcock movie, "The Birds." In the movie, flocks of vicious birds (mostly crows and seagulls) attack the residents of a small beach town. The Edgar Allen Poe poem, "The Raven," also portrays crows as scary. Crows are often made out to be bad or frightening. In fact, a group of crows is called a murder.

To Kill a Mockingbird, novel by American author Harper Lee, published in 1960. Enormously popular, it was translated into some 40 languages, sold more than 40 million copies worldwide, and is one of the most-assigned novels in American schools. In 1961 it won a Pulitzer Prize. The novel was praised for its sensitive treatment of a child’s awakening to racism and prejudice in the American South.

What is Phasmophobia?

Phasmophobia is an intense fear of ghosts. For people with a ghost phobia, the mere mention of supernatural things — ghosts, witches, vampires — can be enough to evoke the irrational fear. People with a phobia of ghosts frequently report sensing a presence when they’re alone. Tiny noises turn into proof positive that their fears are founded. They may even get the distinct impression that they’re being watched or are moments away from a confrontation with a supernatural being.

Lord of the Flies, novel by William Golding, published in 1954. The book explores the dark side of human nature and stresses the importance of reason and intelligence as tools for dealing with the chaos of existence. In the novel, children are evacuated from Britain because of a nuclear war. One airplane, with adults and prep-school boys as passengers, crashes on an uninhabited island, and all the adults are killed. As the boys fashion their own society, their attempts at establishing a social order gradually devolve into savagery. Finally abandoning all moral constraints, the boys commit murder before they are rescued and returned to civilization.
