America was drawn into WWI through a number of reasons. Britain intercepted the Zimmerman Note, which threatens the US continent, itself; Germany resumed submarine warfare against America, and our desire to help our allies.
America begins to be viewed as a world power long before WWI but begins to use its influence an economic power in an attempt to bring about a peaceful ending to the war. America's insistence in having a peaceful resolution WITHOUT a winner would lead to a longer lasting peace- avoiding the distaste and anger caused by a country being identified as the loser.
