The Articles of Confederation gave too much power to the people. The Constitution was made to be the opposite of the AOC. States still had some freedom, but a stronger, more centralized government existed. The Founding Fathers learned fro their mistakes.

The U.S. passed the Embargo act which restricted importation and exportation to Britian and from Britain. This lead to England getting mad and started the War of 1812. We realized we could stand up for ourselves and the U.S. was strong. This marked teh advent of the Era of Good Feelings.
