What was the impact of Abraham Lincoln's election in 1860?

The news of his election led to 7 southern states very quickly to secede from the nation. The states seceded because they knew Abraham Lincoln wouldn’t allow slavery due to his moral standards but they really wanted slavery to be permitted. This was one of the final events that led to the civil war. The south mainly adhered and became the confederacy and the north became the union.

What was the Dredd Scott Case?

Occurred when the court was evaluating a case to determine if an African American man was free. The court said Congress did not have the right to usurp anyone of their commodities by prohibiting slavery. Which meant that even if slaves were taken into free states they wouldn’t be considered as free people.

Exposed slavery which inconviened the north and the south and deepened conflict between the two sides. mentioned the issues of the political, and economic arguments in favor or against slavery.
