Anatomical Directions
This is the way the feet point forward, the head and face are lined up, and arms at the side.
What is the Anatomical Position?
Lower part of the skull.
What is the Occipital region?
These are the two main cavities in the body.
What are the Dorsal and Ventral cavities?
Divides the body into upper and lower portions.
What is the Transverse plane?
They are located in the Thoracic region on the right and left side.
What are the lungs?
This is a lying on its back position.
What is the Supine position?
Point to your lower regions/extremities.
Lumbar, Gluteal, Inguinal, Femoral, Crural, Tarsal, and Pedal.
Do NOT point to your Gluteal and Inguinal regions.

What are the Cranial and Spinal cavities?
These are the four body planes.
What are the Transverse plane, Sagittal plane, Midsagittal plane, and Coronal plane?
An organ located behind the stomach, superior to the large intestine, inferior to the left lung, and distal from the heart.

This is the plane that divides the body into equal halves.
What is the Midsagittal plane?
It is located anterior to the left kidney, inferior to the left lung, distal to the small intestine, and superior to the large intestine.

What are Superior, Interior, Anterior, and Posterior regions?
It is superior to the crural region, inferior to the Pelvic region, and proximal to the popliteal.
What is the Femoral region?
These are the two cavities in the Thoracic Region.
What are the Mediastinum and Pleural cavities?
This plane divides the body in Anterior and Posterior halves.
What is the Coronal plane?
The Heart, Trachea, Thymus, Esophagus, and Blood Vessels are located in this cavity.
Where/What is the Mediastinum?

Ex: The brachial is proximal to the cubital, superior to the supraclavicular, interior to the antebrachial, and distal from the carpal.
