Open discussion - just witnessed the horrible killing of their comrades. (terrified) - stand on top of the knoll (small hill) ->very beautiful and represent hope and promise. Contrast the landscape view with animals' feeling Idealism vs. reality This paragraph is for animals and the readers to stop and reflect on what Animal Farm could have become, versus what it actually is now. thus, the purpose of rebel have not achieved.
