Squirrel
This animal sits perched in a tree, and to look back only has to twist it's head all the way around! It is said to be wise and if you listen closely you might hear it asking, "Hoo, hoo."
Owl
Turtles
You might see this animal hopping around on the side of the street or in a backyard. But also, some people like to have them has pets. Their long ears and soft fur make them fun to pet. They are said to love to eat carrots!
Bunny
These insects can fly, but when they're not flying they tucks their wings away under a pretty red shell with black spots. They rumored to be good luck.
Lady Bugs
This animal might be pretty to look at with it's black and white fur, but you if get too close you risk getting sprayed and smelling bad!
These large mammals, with their thick, bushy fur, most likely won't be seen in the winter because they'll be hibernating! In all over seasons you might catch them chasing honey, berries, or even stealing trash!
Bears
These animals start out living in our and look more like tiny fish. As they grow up, they spring long legs that are good for jumping and start to go on land.
Frogs
These little animals are all around! They mostly live in fields & people's shed, but sometimes they come inside and try to make a home for themselves in your house! When people see them in the house they often set up traps and lure them with cheese.
Mouse
This bug is said to be harder working. It seems to like sweet things and loves flowers as much as people do! However, it won't seem so sweet when it's stinging you.
Bee
This animal will most likely come into your backyard to try to snag some food out of your trash can. You might know it for the black fur around its eyes. This animal is mostly nocturnal - so you'll most likely see it after dark!
Raccoon
This pretty red animals often has white or black on it's feet and tail and is known for being cunning and sneaky.
Fox
These birds won't fly much, they prefer to sit on the water and paddle with their webbed feet. Their flat beaks help them hold on to their food so it does not slip away in the water.
Ducks
While you might find this on your table for Thanksgiving dinner, this animals roams free around Massachusetts! You might even spot them in towns around here like Hadley or Florence.
Turkey
This animal is not actually an insect, but it is a bug! It has 8 legs and likes to catch things in it's web. It might scare you if you see it crawling around your house!
Spider
This animal flies up to Massachusetts, with it's red chest, every year. People say seeing it means spring is coming.
Robin
Don't be fooled by this animal! It might look like your friendly household pet, but it's a bit bigger, can catch all it's own food, and won't want to come live with you.
Bob cat
These are the largest animals on earth! They live in the ocean, but have to come up for air, using their blow hole to breath. They have a large, iconic tail.
Whales
These animals fly around at night and sleep, upside down, during the day!
Bats
These insects are small, but very strong! They can lift 7 times their own body weight. They live together by the thousands in homes we call "hills." If you leave sweet food out or drop some on the ground at a picnic, you might see a trail of them coming to eat.
Ants
This animal lives in the trees and loves to fly around. It is notable for it's beautiful blue feathers.
Blue jay
This animal is very vocal (it makes a lot of noise!), you might catch it howling at the moon. They like to hunt alone and will eat just about anything they catch.
Hint: it's not a wolf, but is similar to a wolf and is part of the same animal family.
Coyote
These animals have flat tails and big front teeth! They live on both the land and the water and love munching on and chopping down trees to make dams.
This is another animal that should only be in your house on a plate. Like a turkey, it is a bird some people eat for special occasions. It's feathers are usually white.
Goose
These insects start out as long, fat, worm-like critters. After eating a lot they sleep in a chrysalis to transform into a very different looking insect with beautiful wings.
