3.Any deputy is justified in using reasonable and appropriate physical force when and to the extent the deputy believes necessary to maintain order and discipline within the jail.

600.4 MINOR RULE VIOLATIONS-
Any staff member imposing informal sanctions shall document the sanctions in the JMS.
•1) Threat perceived by a REASONABLE OFFICER
•2) NEED for Force as the appropriate response to the perceived threat
•3) Amount of force used in relation to the need for force
•4) Efforts made to temper the severity of the force response
•5) Extent of Injury to the inmate (one factor to consider)

a) Throw their property away at no cost
b) Have their property mailed out for $30 - assessed at the time the inmate leaves the Weld County Jail.
c) Release their property to a third party. The third party has 90-days to pick up the property. This will cost $30 - assessed at the time the inmate leaves the Weld County Jail.
