What is rhetorical question?
True or False: In a rhetorical analysis, I can just talk about what the purpose of the document is without listing specific rhetorical choices and still get a 3.
FALSE. You will fail if you don't discuss particular choices.

What is logos?

This is a verbal propaganda technique that involves associating someone with a bad object/thing when talking about them.
What is name-calling?
Referencing an outside literary sources that people would understand.
What is allusion?
The order of the essays on the exam and the recommended time for each.

Attacking the person rather than attacking the argument.
What is ad hominem?

The different categories you can choose from for evidence for the argumentative prompt.

The author's feeling towards the topic and how they show it.
What is tone and diction (word choice)?
The national holiday celebrated in all countries.
What is New Years?
Making a rushed conclusion without considering all the factors or variables.
What is generalization?
Putting two opposite ideas side by side.
What is juxtaposition?

The rhetorical appeals in this passage: Okay, so our options are pizza, sushi and Mexican. The last time we went out we had pizza, and although I love pizza, Antoinette is lactose intolerant, and we need to be mindful. She had a terrible stomach ache after dinner, and it would be such a bummer if she had to sit and watch us eat while she nibbled on a salad. We could do sushi as no one is allergic to that, but it’s really expensive. Plus, Wyatt has this thing about raw fish, and I don't want him to be uncomfortable—even if he just gets a spring roll.
