We walk almost a mile each day to personally pick up our children. Then we feed them snacks, help them with homework and provide a wide array of enrichment programs from STEM, to Theatre Classes, to Cooking classes.
Who is the Youth Development Program team?
I am a zen individual who helps youth find jobs in the community. I enjoy art and photography and work at our APCC-South office. I can often be seen exploring new opportunities to inspire the youth I work with.

At this signature event, guests enjoyed cocktails while watching the sun set and listening to the flow of the Chicago River. We heard from the Mayor's Director of New Americans and (Client/Volunteer) Carlos who told us his story of how APCC empowered him to apply his skills learned in ESL classes to other New Americans at APCC.

We may be small, but our brains are always growing. Our teachers are tirelessly creating lesson plans that will engage us in play, social emotional learning and academic skill building. When you see us in the hallway, wave and say "hello" so that we learn how to interact with people that we should get to know!
Who are the children in the Early Education program?
I am outgoing, friendly and use my creativity to represent APCC at all times. I am often seen leading tours, recruiting new members and attending community events. I aim to see the good in all people and wear an APCC pin just about every day.

I am outspoken and love children. I wear many hats but seeing our APCC children show kindness and being fully engaged in programs truly is the highlight of my day. I am a vegetarian and visit Starbucks every day.
We like to listen more than we talk. We are often seen quietly escorting our clients who may be shyly hiding their emotions by averting eyes as we walk to our destination.

I run a very tight ship to ensure that every child is fed healthy breakfasts, lunches and snacks each day. As you walk into my "office" you can see that I enjoy keeping my space clean and ready for any site visit.

We help Chicago's most vulnerable people gain the skills they need to be successful in life by getting a job. Our clients are as young as 14 (Afterschool Matters) and can be as old as they want.

I am a great listener and super creative. I enjoy working with our interns to talk about ways that we can support children with better social emotional learning skills. I used to be known as "the other xxxxx" in my department, but now I am the one and only!
