Elder Patrick Kearon talked about receiving the gift of Jesus Christ. He started his talk telling about how Penguins and Bonobos (cousin of the chimpanzee) give gifts. What gifts do they give?
penguins give shiny pebbles to their prospective mates, and bonobos give fruit to expand their circle of friendship.
Elder Hans T Boom saw a painting of a 14 year old girl named Mary Wanless in the Nashville Tennessee temple. It was called, "Carry on". In Missouri in 1862, Mary promised her dying stepmother that she would make sure her disabled father and her four younger siblings would make it to the Great Salt Lake Valley. She drove the oxen and milked the cows that pulled the wagon. She fed the family by foraging plants, flowers, and berries. Her only compass was the instruction she had received to keep traveling west ‘until the clouds become mountains.’ Her father died not long after they settled in Utah County, where Mary later married and raised her own family.

Who talked about the Willow Tree that was blown down by a storm. He started to cut it up with his chainsaw, but his neighbor begged him to keep it.
Who told this story AND what happened?
Elder S. Mark Palmer told this story. The neighbor pointed to one root still in the ground and said that if they propped the tree up, cut off its branches, and nourished it, the roots would take hold once again. 12 years later it's a beautiful big willow tree.
