What was King Phillip's War?
War fought between the Northeastern Woodland tribes and the English settlers and their Native allies. It is known as the Native Americans’ last–ditch effort to overthrow English authority and stop encroachment on their lands. It’s main cause was the Indian resentment to their mistreatment and colonizers attempting to force them into slavery and converting them to Christianity. The colonists won, wiping out Native Americans from the New England area.
