Who must wear a mask?
Masks need to be worn by all people in the center. Parents need to be wearing masks. If you see them without it please ask them to go back to the front and ask them to pick up a maks. COVID is rising and the best way we know how to protect ourselves is by wearing masks. All children should be wearing masks. Toddlers need to wearing maks as well. This will be more challenging, but we need to be practicing with them. We can use the paper one and the cloth ones. This is for anyone 2 and up.. This is per licsening

These much be chargedd and on at all times. This will be our main way of communication: This will be needed for drills, meals, and breaks. These needed to be with each group at all times. If you notice it not working please come see Linday ASAP. These are needed.

What are the gray bins for?
There will be gray bins at the bottom of your carts for the children to put all the reusable items in when they are done eating. This also includes bowls, spoons, pitches and anything reusable
How can food be used in the classroom?
Food can not be used in art. We can use food as teasting or use left over in the art (IE: The trash of the food). For examples: Lemons: can be used to make lemonade and the rind to use the stamps
What is our center code phrase? What does it mean? What should the classroom do?
Our code word is Sally has entered: this will be used from here on out when we are doing the Lockdown drill. This is why we need the Walkie Talkies on hand.

EHS once you are all done with the Signatures and contact logs please bring them to the office as Lindsay and Josefina will close them it. HS please ensure all all materials in there as HS will close them out like they did last year.

What is forecasting and supplemental meals and why is it important?
Nutrition has moved to forecasting which mean we no longer order meals and they are ordering food based on the average of children in each classroom each day. This affects how many meals we get for AM Snack, Lunch, and Supper. We have moved to forecast because this will help us reduce the amount of food as they will be taking the averages for each days based on the number of children coming. We need to really encourage out families to be coming at their contract hours.
Serving meals at the time they are supposed to be served is super important ( Examples: 166 has supper at 3:30 and they have 3 meals and there are 5 children and 166 serves supper at 2:25 this affects the meal counts and what we need to do for extra meals) Meals need to be served at the time scheduled

Our art projects need to be open ended, We are seeing more and more teacher directed activities. We should not see handprint or footprint art or anything that required a lot of teacher help. We are focused on process over product. Lesson plans should be written in full sentences and be descriptive so everyone understands the activity. Jenn and I will be questions more items in lesson plan if we feel that the art it more product over process
When sending a child home for COVID what symptoms are the symptoms? What do they need to be sent home with? and what are the three returning options?
There are three options we have when children are displaying symptoms. 1. They can take a COIVD test immediately and can return when symptoms are getting better. 2. They can go to the doctors and get notes that state their symptoms are not due to COVID and provide an alternative reason. 3. Qutentine for 10 days and the the 11 day can retun back to school.
When we are sending children home for COVID symptoms we must send them home with a sysmtoms report. They are located in the office with all the Head Start paperwork. I will also add the COVID options in there so you can attach the sheet for the parents along with the report.

When we come back from pre-service we will be working on getting ready for the next year.
Health History Cards - This will also need to be done again. If we start early then we will have less work later when the school year will start. As a class decided how you want to tackle these two forms.
Pre- Service - This will be taking place Aug 3-5: I have not gotten details on where this will be taking place.
These need to updated: if there is person that is not on the Ipad we much redo a EC and and please provide the office the filled out form and Lindsay will send it off to enrollment so we can make copies for all the places that needed it.

We will be rotating toys every three months on the 2nd early closure day as a center to continue moving toys and children get different experiences.

What should we have in our closets?
As an area, we were talking about keeping items in the area we hide. Items we know that are quiet but keep the children calm. We will also be adding lollipops in this area if we need to use them to keep the teachers and children quiet IF WE EVER HAVE A REAL LOCKDOWN. We will not be using lollipops during practice drills.

POS for new / Supplemental Meal - This is not Backup food! This is smaller meals for the children and used only when we do not have enough good for the classrooms that day. ( For example is 75 has 22 in class and only 20 children are given meals we need to provide 2 children witht the supplemental meals). If there are 5 or more children who need food we will open backup food.
