The programming language used to write sketches for the Arduino SBC. The syntax is similar to several other commonly used programming languages, including C++, C#, and Java.
Arduino C programming language
Information sent into a computer. Examples are keyboards, mice, serial data.
Input
To receive data from another computer
Download
Physical computing components, i.e., CPU, RAM, keyboard, etc.
Hardware
Receive and Transmit. Refers to whether data is being received or sent, respectively.
RX/TX
Materials which have a conductivity between conductors (generally metals) and non-conductors or insulators (such as ceramics)
Semiconductor
A semiconductor light source that emits light when current flows through it
Light Emitting Diode (LED)
The speed of data into and out of a serial port. A typical rate for the Arduino is 9600 bits per second.
Baud
Manufacturer of the microcontrollers in Arduinos
Atmel
A basic electronic component used to temporarily store electrical energy. They can also be used to smooth out current and filter electrical noise.
Capacitor
An entire microcomputer on a single printed circuit board such as the the Arduino and the Raspberry Pi
Single-Board Computer (SBC)
To send data to another computer
Upload
A basic semiconductor that use(s) a small control current to switch, or amplify a larger current
Transistor
Discrete data, having a definite value, for example one or zero
Digital data
A mechanical, electromagnetic switch that can be turned off and on with a small control current
Relay
