The steps of a Fire drill
CALMLY walk outside door, up the sidewalk, up to the Upper Field. Find your classroom spot.

Pencils, erasers, crayons, scissors, and glue sticks. NO SLEEPOVERS
Who is in charge of cleaning up your work space?
You are in charge of cleaning up your own messes. EXCEPT paint palettes
What are some things to check if I think I finished with an artwork?
Have I filled up the space? Did I add details? Does it need an outline? Have you tried different thicknesses and EMPHASIS for your lines, or does everything "weigh the same amount"? Did you use your best CRAFTSMANSHIP?
How do you get a jolly rancher?
Bring in PINT size plastic containers for water cups. One Jolly Rancher per cup
What happens during a Shelter in Place
We will exit the room and find your class spot. We will take roll
Where can I find sharpies, colored pencils and other drawing tools?
On the material shelves or back counter
Which sink does ALL paint go in?
The LARGE silver sink. Please put materials IN the sink gently. The sides are for clean items or CLEAN water cups.
Turn it in and (new this year) give it a title on the back!
OK, I'm done. Now what?

YES! I have twins who are in 4th grade, their names are Cecilia and Henry.
How many people can use the bathroom at once? Where do you go?
Potty time is not party time! Only one person can go at a time, and we use the bathroom near the front of the school.

In the Turn in Work bin OR the drying rack (if the work is wet)
What and where did Mrs. Mirto teach before she was an art teacher?
HERE! I taught 3rd and 5th grade for a million years (actually 7)
How do you clean up?
Put art project away FIRST, then materials!
How do I take care of my paintbrushes (3 ways)
Don't scrub with them, keep them out of the water unless they are in use, store the HAIR UP (like a troll)
Where does UNFINSHED art go
On the front table OR the drying rack (if the work is wet)
Name 3 choices when you have turned in your finished work
Read a book or magazine
Free Draw or color
Use a How To book
Play an art game
Help clean up
Write a POSITIVE note to a friend or a teacher

How do we enter the room?
Start in the hallway, then head to the front table or desks, depending on the directions given to you!
When a marker (any type) is dried out what do you do with it?
THROW IT AWAY!
What does the line look like to leave?
Start at the door and end at the phone (or as close as possible to that)
How many pieces of free choice paper (and envelopes) can you have?
ONE TOTAL!! If you have a lot of time left over, go back and make sure your artwork that you turned in is a MASTERPIECE!
