Where do we go when we enter the art room?

How do we know when to go back to our table?
Listen for table name.
How will I know when it's clean up time?
Usually a warning (one minute or 2 minute), then the bell rings twice.
When can I use the bathroom pass?
During work time unless its an emergency. Pass hangs on the closet door. Ask Ms. Kara before you use it!

Assigned seat at table.
How do we sit during the lesson?
Sit up, criss-cross, facing forward, hands to self.
How do we get our materials?
Helpers will pass out the materials you will need.

Helpers will collect the materials.
Will I get a turn to be a helper?

How do we know if we are a helper?
From the table tag on the board. You will be assigned a job after the lesson.
What do I do if I'm not a helper?
Get your materials ready for the helper, (markers or colored pencils in boxes, glue caps on, etc). Stay seated at your table spot!
Do I take my artwork home the day it is finished?
At the end of class, how will we know when to line up?
Watch for table tags!
Why can't we talk to our friends during the lesson?
You are getting information to do your job in art class.
What if we forget what we are supposed to do?
Look at the picture directions on the board or ask a table mate.
What happens if my hands are dirty from painting?
You will be given a sponge once the materials are cleared. Wipe your own table spot. Sponges are collected when you are done.
What do the smiley faces on the board mean?
At the beginning of class, what do we do when the music starts?
No talking, get calm, think your own thoughts.
Why do we need to learn about art?
So many reasons! We learn about ourselves. We empathize with others. We learn to read pictures. We develop our own ideas. We experiment. We learn to self-assess and make changes. We practice small-motor skills. And more!
Is it OK to talk during work time?
Yes, but if you can't talk and work at the same time, then mostly work.
If I am a helper, where do the materials go?
On the counter by your grade number. If they are wet or dirty, they go in the sink without the buckets.
What should I do if I hear ONE bell?
Stop working, voices off, eyes up and listen!
