How was the Korean War started?
At the end of WWII, the northern part of Korea was held by the USSR and the south was held by the U.S. The Allies could not agree on how the country should be governed. Therefore, the country was split. In 1950, the Communist forces from North Korea attacked South Korea. The U.N. asked for help to stop the communists. Therefore, the U.S. and other nations sent troops.
