When did discrimination first strike out against the Asian Americans?
Discrimination first struck out while working in California as miners. They refused to pay the Foreign Miner Tax was forced on the immigrants to pay, however it was only to be collected from the Asian immigrants even though European miners were doing the same job. The Asian Americans refused to pay the tax due to unfair treatment which lead to physical attacks and even murder. While trying to go to court for the unfair treatment, the law in California prevented, Chinese immigrants from testifying against Whites in court.
