This is the coldest layer in the atmosphere.
The bottom of a mountain has (more/less) air molecules than the top.
More air molecules
When heat moves as two objects touch.
Conduction
This type of storm forms over warm, tropical, ocean water.
Hurricane
Tung, tung, tung, tung, sahur is an example of...
Italian Brain Rot
The layer of the atmosphere where clouds form (weather).
Troposphere
As you go higher in altitude, air pressure ___________
Air pressure decreases (goes down)
Cooking a bag of popcorn in the microwave is an example of
Radiation
This type of storm forms over land and is funnel-shaped.
Tornado
Your generation's favorite numbers:
67!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Stratosphere.
Low air pressure means the air molecules are...
Not many, spread out, far apart
If the basement of your house is cooler than the upstairs, this is an example of..
Convection
This type of severe storm is when there is a long period of no precipitation.
Drought
What is the name of an application that was very similar to TikTok, it was most popular between 2010-2015.
Vine
List the layers of the atmosphere in order AND their altitude
Ex: Troposphere (0km-?)
Troposphere (0-12km), Stratosphere (12-50km), Mesosphere (50-80km), Thermosphere (80-120+km)
If Carlos is at an altitude of 1000m, Ryan is at an altitude of 1500m, and Hawa is at an altitude of 1100m, who is experiencing more air pressure?
Explain your answer.
Carlos
The higher in altitude, the lower the air pressure. Since Carlos is at the lowest altitude of all 3, he is experiencing the most air pressure.
You are baking a cake in an oven, then decide to put in the microwave, and then place it on the warm stove.
What types of heat transfer (in the correct order) happened in the process?
Convection, Radiation, Conduction
Ayleen is describing a type of severe storm. She says it has strong wind, can have rain, but starts and ends very quickly.
What is she describing?
Tornado
We don't do nike techs and coffee no more..
it's straight quarter zips and matcha...
What gasses make up the atmosphere and what're their percentages?
Nitrogen-78%
Oxygen-21%
Other gasses (Argon, CO2, etc) ~ 2%
What is the air pressure at the top of Mt Everest (8km in altitude)?
*hint: use a graph in your notes to help*
Explain how weather happens using Radiation, Conduction, and Convection.
The Sun’s energy travels to Earth through radiation and warms the land. The warm surface heats the air touching it through conduction. This warm air rises and cool air sinks, creating convection, which moves heat around and helps create weather.
Hurricanes and Typhoons are the same type of storm but they are called 2 different names.
Why?
It depends on where they are located.
Hurricanes-Atlantic Ocean, Caribbean
Typhoons-Northwest Pacific Ocean
