It definitely depends on the situation. Many therapies include gradual exposure, or slowly facing things that are safe but still scare you.
What are some behaviors you have when you're anxious that you don't normally have otherwise?
Sometimes our reactions are out of habit or meat to help us cope. In some cases, they are helpful and other times are not.

Self-kindness helps your brain and body relax.

In some cases, fears are out of proportion to the danger, and in some cases not, so it all depends.

Everyone is unique and it's normal to be nervous before something that's important to you.

Past experiences or brain differences can cause people to react different to social situations. Sometimes people would like to feel more comfortable, while to others it doesn't matter as much to their daily lives.
