What does "attendance" mean?
Coming to school every day, on time, and ready to learn.

4 days, at 5 days a letter is sent home
Staying home with a fever is usually this kind of absence.
Excused.
One way to avoid being tardy is to do this the night before school.
Prepare clothes/backpack or go to bed on time.
What is an "excused absence"?
An absence that has a valid reason and parent/school approval.
Continued truancy after school supports may lead to involvement from this system.
Juvenile court or the legal system.

9 days, at 10 days a meeting is scheduled.
A doctor's appointment with a note is considered this.
Excused.
If you’re absent, you should ask your teacher for this.

What does "habitually truant" mean?
A student who has 5 or more unexcused absences from school.
When a student has repeated unexcused absences, the school may schedule this to help solve the problem.
An attendance or intervention meeting aka a CUTS Meeting.
How many days can you be absent before holding a meeting with your parent, Ms. Michaela & Ms. Massey?
14 days, at 15 days this meeting is scheduled.
Unable to be picked up due to a family member's doctor's appointment is considered this.
Unexcused. You can only be excused for your own appointments.
Setting an alarm and going to bed on time helps prevent this attendance problem.
Being tardy or missing school completely.
What does "excessive absences" mean?
A student that is absent more than 10% of the school year (18 days).
What are the consequences for being "habitually truant"?
required attendance of the parent and child at an education class, community service hours, counseling & a $50 fine.
How many days can you be absent before you and your parent have a meeting with the Junior Probation Officer?
18 days, on the 19th day, you and your parent will meet with the JPO.
Having cramps from being on your period is considered this.
Unexcused.
