The alternative action the team proposes

What is the CP Tex?

100

Why does the DA not need an internal link card?

What is The path from the link to the impact makes sense without one

100

This team starts with Off-Case positions then goes to On-Case and explain why

What is Negative team because that’s their offense; they can’t win the debate without it

200

The part that explains how the CP solves the affirmative’s advantage(s)

What is Solvency Advocate?

200

How does the Russia DA cause nuclear war

What is secessionism causes civil conflict, escalates in the presence of so many nukes. Other countries might intervene, Moscow elites push back on secessionism, risks escalation to nuclear war

200

What should you never do during cross-ex

What is start making arguments instead of asking questions?

300

The part that explains how the CP avoids the Disadvantage OR is a separate razzle dazzle that the affirmative team doesn’t access

What is Net Benefit?

300

Explain the uniqueness of the biodiversity DA

What is Arctic ecosystems are on the brink now; they’re adaptable to climate change but any destabilizing action like the plan can push them over.

300

Assuming all offcase you’ve been given were read in the 1NC, give us a roadmap of the 2AC

What is case, cp, biodiversity, Russia OR case, cp, Russia, biodiversity?

400

What role does the Disadvantage play in the CP

What is It serves as an external net benefit to the cp because it links to the plan but not the cp. The CP has the ADDITIONAL advantage of also solving the DA, therefore the DA is an external net benefit (nb that is not a direct part of the cp)

400

How does the plan link to the Biodiversity DA?

What is OTEC (the plan) disrupts ocean circulation patterns. The temperature change affects the ecosystems, and increased mixing of deep waters increases algae blooms. OTEC mixes this deep water

400

Name 3 things you need to do in a 2NC

What is overview, weighing, line-by-line (with extensions), reading cards?

500

What does it mean if a counterplan is conditional, unconditional, and dispositional? (get at least 2)

Conditional - does not need to be defended in the 2nr.

Unconditional - must be defended in the 2nr.

Dispositional - must be defended in the 2nr if some specific action is NOT taken by the aff: ex, if they don’t read a perm the 2nr must be defended in the 2nr

500

Why is the Arctic Ocean critical to the survival of our planet

What is processes that occur in the Arctic strongly regulate important bodies of water like the GUlf Straem and the North Atlantic Current. It drives disruptions back to the global system; any effects on Arctic ecosystems will globalize, meaning changes in the Arctic can lead to species extinction.

500

Why shouldn’t you take prep between the neg block (2NC and 1NR)? Give me a strategic explanation instead of a structural one

What is it maximizes pressure on the 1AR and makes sure the aff has trouble answering the entirety of the block. Because they must defend case, you want to make sure that either their answers on it are rushed/bad or that they have to push case to the end of the speech, increasing the chances they’ll drop it.
