Define over harvesting.
Over harvesting is when you remove more organisms faster than a population can replace.
What is Malnutrition?
Occurs when people do not consume enough Calories or do not eat a sufficient variety of foods to fulfill all of the body’s needs.
What are the benefits of pesticide and if pesticide is not used how can pests effect plants.
Pesticides kill insects, weeds, and other crop pests. Insects tend to eat about 33 percent of all crops and when insects are rapidly producing the more they feed on crops destroying potential world harvest.
Describe the importance of livestock in providing food and other products.
Livestock not only provide leather, wool, eggs, and meat, but also serve many other functions. Some livestock are used as draft animals to pull carts and plows. Other livestock provide manure as the main source of plant fertilizer or as a fuel for cooking.

How does over harvesting effect the supply of aquatic organisms?
Fish and other aquatic organisms provide up to 20 percent of the animal protein consumed worldwide. But over harvesting is reducing the amount of fish and other organisms in the world’s oceans.

A period in time when people started using new technology to enhance the proficiency and the production of crops.

Genetic, Biological, and Agricultural Engineering. Scientists may use genetic engineering to transfer desirable traits, such as resistance to certain pests.

The total energy needed to grow plants for food is much less than the energy needed to raise animals as food.
