I am done using my markers, pencils, and notebook? What should I do with them?
Place everything back into your desk neatly. Check day is Friday. If your desk is clean and you have all supplies, you will be able to join fun Friday.
What should I do if I have something to say, but someone else is speaking?
Please raise your hand. Respect out one mic rule. I will give everyone a chance to share their thoughts either out loud or through turn and talk partners.
I am getting frustrated with a classmate or with my school work and I feel my emotions building. What should I do?
Let Ms. Collins know immediately. I allow short calm down breaks in the calm down corner. We will have a deeper conversation when I am not giving instruction.
What should I do if I need use the restroom or drink water?
Please hand signals to let me know that you need to use the restroom and drink water. Use the bathroom directly to the right of us. Please don't wonder around, and only 2 students are allowed out at one time.
I was assigned homework, what should I do?
Place your homework directly in your backpack after the lesson, and take your folder home that has the homework schedule on it. You will get a new schedule every week. If you did not complete your HW from the night before, come and speak to me.
I need help with my class work but I'm too shy to raise my hand in front of everyone.
Do try your best to ask questions, because there will be someone else who most likely has the same question as you. Students are always welcome to come talk to me in private if they feel like they need more support with a subject.
I did something to hurt my classmate (verbally or physically) what are the consequences.
We want to treat everyone with kindness and respect in the classroom. If an altercation arises, it is documented and families will get a phone call home. I also will follow up with the people involved in the incident to have a peace talk.
I finished my classwork early, what should I do? and what SHOULD'NT I do?

I used a teacher supply or borrowed a book from the class library. What should I do when Im done using it?
PLSSSS put it back. If things are put back randomly our classroom will get messy quickly.
I rushed through my classwork so I could get extra free time. I did not do my best.
I will end up making you do it again. Since you are in 5th grade, I do expect you to putting effort into all your assignments.

I am being disrespectful to the classroom space (disruptive, talking back, or refusing to do what is asked of you) what are the consequences.
Students will immediately be sent out of the room to a buddy classroom or the office. Families will be sent a message/phone call home and students will have to sit down with me to fill out a reflection sheet.
