French Club! Students are signing up now and will be voting on officers next week. Activities may include folk dancing, Christmas at the Zoo, a trip to the Indianapolis Museum of Art, dining at Petite Chou in Broadripple, watching French movies...

My husband, George, was a Center Grove high school assistant principal for 20+ years and recently retired from the Indiana Dept of Ed. We have 2 adult children: Patrick, a software engineer at SalesForce (also a mentor for Red Alert Robotics!) and Katie, a digital specialist at Valve + Meter...both CG grads.

#2 SKYWARD!!! Ask your student about missing / low grades! Check back often! Be patient during the early weeks when one or two grades can have a huge impact on the student's grade!

French Honor Society is an honorary organization for students in French III, IV and AP. Students are selected to become members based on their French GPA.

#3 STAR! Students need to make good use of this 40-minute block of time that occurs 4 times/week. Students can meet with me or with a student tutor.

Any opportunities to study in France?
Oui! The Indiana University Honors Program in Foreign Languages has a study program for 3rd-, 4th-, or 5th-year students in France. We frequently have students study abroad over the summer. 2 just returned from France a couple of weeks ago! Google IUHPFL for more info.

I have two French II classes, two French III classes, one French IV, and one French AP class.

A student tutor, you say?
Yes! I am compiling a list of upperclassmen who are interested in helping their peers. Many do it to satisfy a National Honor Society requirement, while others do it just to help out. We've got great students at CGHS who are eager to help.

What's this I hear about Dual Credit?
Yes, students can earn 4 hours of university credit for French II (VU French 101) and French III (VU French 103). Sign up to get more details! Only $100 for each year-long course.

This is a fifth year course to prepare students for university-level coursework. The AP Exam in French will be offered in May.

What is the difference between a Macaroon, a Macaron and Macron???
A "macaroon" is a moist coconut cookie with a chocolate bottom layer. A «macaron» consists of two tiny, colorful cookies around a creamy center. «Macron» is the new president of France. No comment on the "macarena"!
