What are special events?
Most of the actual writing is done during this time after situations have played themselves out.
What is post-production?
This concentrates on the beliefs and views of a person. These are usually with prominent people (experts in their field).
What is an opinion interview?
Using these in a music video just to have them doesn't always make a good one.
What is a gimmick?
This is a straightforward report that doesn't take a POV, but shines a light on an event, situation, person or idea
What is a feature?
Features and documentaries are not necessarily these, although they have components of them.
What are news stories?
This live reality competition show doesn't have a script but does have a rundown it uses to piece the show together.
What is "Dancing with the Stars?"
These are very rarely completely scripted or completely ad-libbed.
What are interviews?
These encompass at least two genres. For example- music and comedy or drama and dancing
What is a variety show?
This is when real people's lives are fictionalized, or fictionalized characters are placed in a real event.
What is Docudrama?
These (the people and events recorded live) are essential for creating a credible program.
What are actualities?
This is widely considered to be the grandfather of all reality shows, when it debuted back in the 1990s.
What is "The Real World"?
This is a human interest, feature story interview. The format could be to probe, embarrass, or flatter.
What is personality interview?
These tell the listener exactly what the station is all about and its place on the dial, such as:
"The best in the South Central Kentucky for Classic Hip Hop and R&B, 95.9 The Vibe"
What is positioners?
These are typically produced as a documentary/feature.
What are biographies?
This often a public service presentation providing informational & educational content. It's not necessarily purely factual or academic in style. A variety show or drama format or other elements of entertainment formats make the story more interesting to the audience.

Themes are chained out and these are created.
What are story arcs?
There are comedic shows like ________ that lampoon the genre of traditional news or talk shows.
What is "The Daily Show"?
Turn up your radio! This genre came into existence based on the popular music at the moment
What is Top-40?
Areas such as using words that are unintentionally offensive or just not expressive of the group are examples of the complexities that a writer faces.
What are special considerations?
The story of the "Great Resignation" that we watched in class was featured on a show that has been around for decades.
What is 60 Minutes?
The "writer" of a reality show is usually called this.
What is Field Director or Story Editor?
This is usually the public service type of interview. The interviewer doesn't have to be well-known to conduct the interview.
What is an information interview?
In the 1930s, this guy came up with the concept for deejays (disc jockeys)
