what is DNS
Domain Naming Service, it's what converts and IP address to a name like google.com. Your laptop, desktop, or server use an addressing design that is setup for computers, IoT devices, servers, and other network attached devices to communicate to each other. This looks similar to 172.217.2.14 which is one of Google.com's IPs but you do not put in the IP to Google Chrome or Internet Explorer you put in Google.com and DNS is what makes resolving the name to the IP possible.
