When a member comes in to make a change to his account and the address, drivers license, phone number has not changed, are we allowed to write "On File" in the space so we don't have to write that information down on the form?
No. See Infopint Article "Forms Completion"
Do not use “On File” for any forms.
BECU must verify and collect accurate and up-to-date contact information on all of our members, to ensure compliance with our Customer Identification Program (CIP) as well as to ensure that we can reach our members as needed (Falcon, PSCU, Loan Loss Management, etc. will need this information).
As BECU employees we must do our diligence to ask members every time to verify that the information we have in front of us (In Member View/ OSI) is correct and up to date.
Use the following process any time you need to update a member’s information. If you have validated the information BECU has on file for our member is accurate, do not write “On File” under each account holder section. Each account holder section must be complete.
If one signer is not present at the time of form completion:
• Encourage the present signer to complete as much information as possible for the absent signer. The expectation is that a joint account holder will know most basic information about the other person on their accounts.
• Please see Accounts - Authorized Signer Powers for details about what information can be updated in OSI at the request of a joint holder.
o If the information provided by the joint indicates a discrepancy for items that they do not have the authority to update, please place an MIT asking for validation of the information on file at next contact with
