This is a hard thing that covers certain kinds of animals, especially ones that live in the sea or in water. Animals like clams and snails grow this around themselves to protect their bodies. We can find them at the beach.

I can be short or long. I come in many different colours. I don't have legs. I 'hiss'.

A straight piece of wood, metal, or plastic that is used for measuring how long something is or making straight lines. It has marks on it that show you how long something is.

This is something that many kids like to make at the beach. It is a small model of a castle made out of sand.
