What muscles are involved in the shoulder region during this phase of movement?

Flex: Anterior deltoid, Pectoralis Major, Coracobrachialis, Pec major (clavicular) synergistically

Internal rotation: pec major, subscapularis, teres minor, and latissimus dorsi synergistically

100

What are the arthrokinematics of the shooting elbow?

roll and slide in same direction and it is open chained motion

100

What is the plane and axis of the shoulder motion?

Sagittal plane/ mediolateral axis

100

Explain what is happening at the scapula? Be specific!

Scapulohumeral rhythm: the muscles Serratus anterior, upper and lower traps are going initiate the movement of the ST joints, the SC joint is first with 25* elevation of the clavicle, then the AC joint finishes with 35* upward rotation to total 60* motion for upward rotation of the scapula. Then the costoclavicular ligament gets taut and limits further motion. Then, the GH joint finishes the motion with the rest 120* flexion. Don’t forget, the muscles acting as a neutralizing synergy to maintain the joint. For ABduction and flexion, when the deltoid and supraspinatus are acting on the shoulder, the infraspinatus, teres minor, and subscapularis are all working to neutralize the joint.

what type of muscle contraction is seen at the shooting wrist?

Shooting hand Wrist extension→ wrist hyperextension

eccentric

200

What muscles are involved in the shooting wrist during this phase?

Flexor carpi radialis, Flexor carpi ulnaris, Palmaris longus

Explain the arthrokinematics of the shoulder joint

GH joint. Convex moving on a concave surface.

Roll n slide opp directions

200

What is the motion that is seen at the shooting wrist and what plane and axis does this occur in?

radial deviation → ulnar deviation

Sagittal plane/ mediolateral axis

200

What are the muscles acting on the shooting forearm and how are they acting to help it maintain position throughout the movement?

Pronator Quadratus, Pronator Teres

They are working isometrically

200

what type of muscle contraction is seen at the shoulder joint?

Concentric for shoulder flexion and isometric  contraction for the slight internal rotation

300

What muscles are involved in the fingers during this movement?

Flexor digitorum superficialis, flexor digitorum profundus

AB: Dorsal interossei, abductor digiti minimi

300

describe the arthrokinematics of the shooting wrist joint

(Radiocarpal, ulnocarpal, and distal radioulnar joint)

In open chain movement, the convex surfaces of the scaphoid and lunate move on the concave surfaces of the radius and ulna.

Roll and slide in opposite directions!

300

explain the osteokinematics of the elbow joint

ELBOW humeroradial and humeroulnar joint

roll and slide same direction w/ stable humerus

concave on the convex surface

300

What action is seen at the fingers during this phase?

MCP very slight flexion to hold the ball→ MCP flexion for shooting hand

Finger abduction throughout the movement

Thumb opposition

300

What type of muscle contraction is seen at the neck?

concentric

400

What type of motion is seen at the neck and what muscles are producing that motion?

Flexion→ extension

Splenius capitus and cervicis

Erector spinae → spinalis, longissimus, iliocostalis

400

Describe the arthrokinematics at the finger joints

(MCP, PIP, DIP joints, Joint arthrokinematics roll and slide in the same direction - concave on convex. - proximal phalanx moves and slides in the same direction in relation to the metacarpals

400
Describe the osteokinematics of the shooting forearm

Forearm pronated throughout the movement

Frontal plane/ anterior posterior axis

400

What motion is happening with the stabilizing wrist and what are the muscles roles?

forearm is in a neutral position .

the muscles are working as neutralizers.
