Explanations of events circulating from person to person pertaining to an event on shift is a rumor. Casual conversation or reports about other people, typically involving details that are not confirmed as being true is gossip. We have this kind of tolerance around these two concepts.

This type of precaution is ordered for patients at risk of carrying out a plan to end their own life. Only the Psych team or provider MD team can discontinue this type of precaution. This is important to be aware of if a nurse ever asks this of you, as it is not in the BHA/BHS scope.

What is the Broset Violence Checklist?
The primary RN, the charge RN, an IP roamer and security will respond to a code gray if you need support for your patient. If verbal de-escalation is unsuccessful, the code gray team may use these types of restraints for a patient.

If you're told by the charge RN that you are not needed for the remainder of the shift, you are not permitted to leave without calling this office to confirm that you are not needed elsewhere in the hospital. They may re-allocate you partway through your scheduled shift.
