I stare out the window and purposely ignore my teacher; Expected or Unexpected?
Unexpected Behavior
I run through the hallway to catch up to my friend.
Unexpected behavior, running in the hallway is not safe, and someone could get hurt.
I throw a ball as hard as I can at someone's head while in PE.

Unexpected Behavior.
1. sitting in your chair
2. eyes and body turned toward the speaker
3. voice off
4. desk cleared
I yell out the answer without raising my hand.
Unexpected behavior, classroom distraction to peers and teacher.
I need to leave the classroom, so I get up and go without telling an adult.
Unexpected. You need to let an adult know when you are leaving the classroom so you are accounted for.
What are Unexpected Behaviors??
Unexpected behaviors are sitting under your desk, eating with your fingers or playing with your food, burping noisily with no consideration for those around you. Have no concern for others' feelings or boundaries.
When my classmate is presenting their project I am sitting in my seat and looking at them.
Expected Behavior. When you are looking at the person who is speaking it shows them you are listening.
Name two expected behavior while at home and speaking with your parents.
Show respect, listen to others, Help out, etc.
I raise my hand in class and wait for the teacher to call on me.
Expected Behavior, a student following the classroom norms and showing respect to others.
I sit down quietly and wait for directions from the teacher.
Expected Behavior.
I won the game so I start calling the other team losers.
Unexpected Behavior.
My friend is presenting their project and I am quietly looking at my chromebook.
Unxpected Behavior. If my attention is on my chomebook I am not showing whole body listening.
Name three expected behavior at lunch.
1. sitting and not walking around the cafeteria
2. talking with an inside voice (not yelling)
3. cleaning up my trash
etc.
I raise my hand even though I do not have a question.
Unexpected Behavior, student monopolizes classroom time and disrupts the flow of the classroom discussion.
My friends walk by me in the hallway and say hi, but I feel tired so I don't say hi back.
Unexpected Behavior. Not saying hi to your friends could hurt their feelings.
What are Expected Behaviors??
Expected behaviors are what they sound like. Actions that are expected in a given situation such as staying seated at your desk at school, eating your food with your fork, burping quietly, being considerate of others.
I am presenting my project to my classmates and I am using a loud clear voice.
Expected Behavior. It is important to speak clearly when I am presenting so my classmates can hear the information.
What kind of behaviors gives people weird or uncomfortable thoughts and feelings about us?
Unexpected Behaviors
The teacher is giving directions and a student gets up and walks over to the pencil sharpener.
Unexpected behavior, When the teacher is giving directions students should be showing whole body listening.
I am tired so I lay my head down during class.
Unexpected Behavior.
We have a five minute break so I ask the teacher to use the bathroom.
Expected. This is a great time to use the bathroom so you don't miss directions.
My classmate is presenting and I turn to my friend and tell a joke to make him laugh.
Unexpected. I am not showing wholebody listening and it is disrespectful to my classmate to talk while they are presenting.
