Terms & Phrases
This is not a one-time checklist but a lifelong process that produces faith and change.
What is salvation / being saved?
The only kind of music God authorizes for worship under the New Covenant.
What is singing (a cappella)?
Jesus taught us to begin our prayers by addressing God as this.
What is “Our Father in heaven” / relationally?
The day and pattern given for the church to take up a collection.
What is the first day of the week, as prospered?
Jesus’ command to make these of all nations (Matthew 28:19).
What are disciples?
To teach, warn, or encourage one another.
What is admonish?
The law we are no longer under because we are under the law of Christ.
What is the Law of Moses / Old Law?
According to James 5:13-18, we should pray in all these situations.
What is all the time? (or in every circumstance)
- Suffering
- Cheerful
- All the time
We are these of everything God has given us — money, time, talents, and our bodies.
What are stewards?
We should long for God’s word like a newborn baby longs for this (1 Peter 2:2).
What is milk?
An assembly of people who have been called out by the gospel.
What is the church (ekklesia)?
This is how we should sing — not just with our mouths but this way.
What is from the heart / with joy and thanksgiving?
We should pray and sing with our spirit, but also with this (1 Corinthians 14:15).
What is our mind?
The main attitude we must avoid when giving or thinking about material things.
What is covetous / greedy? (or being anxious about money)
A faithful Christian should entrust what they’ve learned to these kinds of men, who will then teach others (2 Timothy 2:2).
Who are faithful men?
A religious group caused by division from the one true church.
What is a denomination?
These men serve the church by helping with practical needs
Who are deacons?
Jesus gave us this model prayer that includes adoration, God’s will, daily needs, forgiveness, and protection.
What is the Lord’s Prayer? (or Matthew 6:9-13)
Because the New Testament is silent on other methods, this is the only authorized way for a local church to raise money.

Who is Timothy?
The gifts Christ gave to equip the saints
apostles, prophets, evangelists, shepherds, and teachers (Ephesians 4:11)
These are the episkopos who guide fellow Christians in the right direction.
Who are the elders?
Jesus did this even while He was on the cross.
What is pray?
Two main ways the Lord’s money collected by the church should be used.
What are evangelism (preaching the gospel) and edification / benevolence to saints?
The third command in the Great Commission after making disciples and baptizing.
