Fruit punch is made by mixing a flavored powder with water. When you add the mix to the water, the properties of the mixture change. Is this a chemical reaction? Explain why or why not.

The powder dissolves in the water. The water changes color and becomes sweet. It is not a chemical reaction because the powder and the water are still the same substances; the powder just dissolved into the water. A chemical reaction happens when a totally new substance is created.

When the hydrogen peroxide and yeast were mixed, bubbles formed and the temperature increased.. When the vinegar and baking soda were mixed, bubbles formed and the temperature decreased.

The main energy comes from the sunlight. The plant absorbs the energy from the sunlight, then the mouse eats the plant, the hawk eats the mouse and then the hawk dies and the mushroom decompose the hawk and return nutrients into the soil.

A new substance that was not there before was formed on the tools, so it was a chemical change. The color and texture of the iron changed to reddish-brown and flaky.
