Explain the difference between the Battle of Neches (location, tribe, people involved) and the Council House fight (location, tribe, people involved).

The Battle of Neches=East Texas.  Texas Rangers were sent by President Lamar to clear Cherokee off the land.  Cherokee fought back, over 100 Cherokee killed including Sam Houston's friend Chief Bowles. 

Council House Fight=San Antonio. Peace Talks with Comanche turned into a fight when a captive informed Texans that there were more captives left behind.  Mary Maverick witnessed the event and wrote about it in her diary.

Battle of San Jacinto=Texans defeat Santa Anna's Mexican army in 18 minutes, Texas wins independence from Mexico in exchange for Santa Anna's life.
