What must staff review and approve at the end of each pay period?

Their timecards.

It is important to review timecards, this makes sure their are no missing punches or absences left unresolved.

Are staff allowed to post camper photos on social media?

No.

We don’t want to single anyone out or cause any issues in which one child is looked soon negatively by their peers.

Are staff mandatory reporters?

Yes.

It is our responsibility to report any known or susupected instances of child abuse, neglect, or elder and dependant adult abuse to local authorities or CPS.

What is the required staff-to-camper ratios?

1:15

Staff should maintain this ratio as much as possible for both staff and member safety. However, minor employees are not allowed to be left alone with campers no matter ratio, another adult staff is required to be present at all times.

Are outside logos allowed on staff clothing?

No.

Who may pick up campers?

Only authorized adults, specified on pick up list.


If not authorized adults contact supervisor and get in contact with parent to ensure adult is allowed to pick up child. Make sure child is not called until the adult present is allowed to pick up.

Is programming time considered free play?

No.

Programminmg is there to help direct staff and campers. If it is not working it is okay to adjust, more we always want to try and stick to the programming.

What should staff do first during emergencies?

Stay calm, ensure child is okay, call for help.

At least 2 weeks in advance.

What shoes are required at camp?

Closed toe shoes.

It is important as staff to follow same dress codes as our campers to lead by example.

Campers must remain supervised at all times.

What should staff use during the first 5 minutes of activities?

Attention getter.

This helps settle the campers so instructions can be given. Note: it is not always needed, but when they are rowdy it is good to always have an attention getter ready.

Who can administer epi-pens?

All staff.

In a timely manner with their supervisor the moment they feel they may need time to recover.

Only for camp business with permission.

Ensure all campers are accounted for and moving as a group.

Calmly, respectfully, and professionally. 

It is important to address each incident as if it is the first, with no prior judgment or stereotypes.

What form is used for minor bumps and scrapes?

The ouch pad.

It is important all ouchies are told to parents at pick up, or passed along to fellow staff at transportation.
