Mention some of the privileges and responsibilities that come by being adopted by God:
1. Relationship: A good father loves his children unconditionally, he seeks restoration when
fellowship is broken, he speaks to them and hears their cries for help. A child of God is given
the right to call God, “Abba Father” –which is to say, “Daddy Father.”
2. Protection: Affliction might come, but the Father promises to deliver His children from
every one of them. He knows those who trust in Him.
3. Training: The good Father teaches His children the way of life. He gives wisdom and
understanding when they are lacking.
4. Discipline: A good father disciplines those he loves (Hebrews 12:6). He corrects them
because He delights in them (Prov. 3:12).
5. Inheritance: Promises of God apply.
6. Purpose: Even suffering serves a purpose enabling a deeper fellowship with Jesus. All
things work together for the good (Romans 8:28).
