Paul used to be a Jew who hated Christians. One day, he heard that there were lots of them living in Damascus. During his journey, a light from the sky suddenly flashed at him and blinded him. Paul fell to the ground and could not move. Paul then heard a voice coming from the heavens saying: “Saul… Saul... Why do you persecute me?” Paul could not lift himself up. He was trembling out of fear. He said, “Who are you, Lord?” The voice said: “I am Jesus Christ the One whom you persecute.” “He who persecutes Christians persecutes me.” Jesus then gave Paul instructions and influenced him to become a Christian. He is very important, because his preaching spread Christianity to many places.
