Sin. During the time of Adam and Eve, Adam and Eve sinned by disobeying the Word of God and thus causing sin to enter into the heart of man. God cannot dwell with sin, thus He had to disconnect from the hearts of man.

God is our spiritual Father, which means He has the authority to discipline and re-create us. Why does He need to do so?

Because after man was disconnected from God, our hearts are no longer pure (meaning it does not follow after God and His will). God re-creates the spirit so that connection can take place.
