No. Every sin offends God and must be punished.
I am basically a good person, so from what sin do I need to be forgiven?
1st question to ask - does the bible say I am basically good?
Isaiah 64:6

Why is it important to recognize what sin is and when we sin?
If I never recognize or know I am a sinner- what will I never do?
1 John 1:8-10
8 If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word is not in us.
Based on that verse- if I say "I am basically a good person" what am I doing?
If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves... we make him out to be a liar.
If I am a "good Person" - why would Jesus need to die on the cross?
Why couldn't the flower ride it's bike?

Exodus 34:6-7
6 And he passed in front of Moses, proclaiming, “The Lord, the Lord, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness, 7 maintaining love to thousands, and forgiving wickedness, rebellion and sin. Yet he does not leave the guilty unpunished; he punishes the children and their children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation.”
God's holiness means He must hold people accountable to do what is good and right.

How many laws do you have to break to be a lawbreaker?
How many sins do you have to commit to be characterized as a sinner?
God's love for all people means He must judge sin and sinners.
Can I sin so badly, that Jesus cannot forgive me?
No. As long as a person repents of sin and turns to Jesus, He will forgive their sins.

No one can escape punishment by doing good things.
So how can I escape the punishment of being separated from God for eternity?
